“Mrs Whitworth from D.H. Lawrence, remembering David. May 1927”.
Phyliss Whitworth staged a production of Lawrence’s play David at the Regent Theatre towards the end of May 1927. Because of ill health Lawrence had not been able to leave Italy or Germany to attend any rehearsals in England but he had kept in touch with Whitworth by letter.
A collection of essays about living in Mexico and a welcome release from his ‘savage pilgrimmage’
and more about the wanderings that gave life to his novels.
