A collection of photographs taken at night of parts of the old town of Madrid. A bygone era when ‘Serenos’ , (nightwatchmen ) patrolled the streets calling out the time,the weather and ‘all is calm’, throughout the night.

Now of course, it’s refuse collectors and street cleaning vehicles making the noise.
